Jose Coello, Sr.


After 22 years in the pharmaceutical industry (Sterling Drug Inc./ Sanofi Pharma) holding multilevel managerial and executive positions, Jose Coello Sr. gained extensive knowledge in Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Warehousing, and New Product Launches. 

In 2005, Jose Sr. set his sights on the expanding arena of building construction in New York City as the President/CEO of Brookman Construction, overseeing the short term and long term business plan which included all aspects of the $1.8 billion in the reinforced steel market (i.e. foundations, high-rises, commercial buildings, highways, bridges, and tunnels). Brookman Construction has completed work on the Brooklyn Barclays Center, Atlantic Yards Project, Interstate I287, Van Wyck Expressway, Carlton Ave. bridge, Brooklyn/Queens Waste Management Projects, and others.

Jose Sr. was Brisa Builders V. P of Portfolio Management from 2016-2019. Brisa is a Developer, Construction Management, and General Construction company with over 50 years of expertise in the New York City construction and affordable housing market. Several notable projects Ebenezer Plaza Brooklyn, Bishop Phileas and Helene Nicholas (BPHN) Senior Residence project, Glenmore Manor Brownsville, Dr. Alfred and Lady Cockfield (DLAC) Senior Residence Project. As a Brisa construction manager, Jose Sr. oversaw an $850,000+ budget for construction at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, N. Y., while maintaining the critical day-to-day operations of the hospital. 

As a Principal of 2M Corporation Jose Sr. is responsible for the visioning, public and regulatory approvals, community benefits & end use outcomes, development classification strategic/master/facilities planning, and oversight for the project implementation through completion for 2M project platforms to include: institutional, academic, industrial, medical, hospitality, as well as affordable/workforce/supportive housing solutions.

As 2M Corporation's Advisory Board Chair he is a leading visionary and chief "Thought Provocateur".

As a committed business entrepreneur and proven community advocate and organizer, Jose Sr. strongly advocates for minority contractors, minority employment, and MWBE contractual opportunities. Jose Sr. is a long-standing member of the Association of minority enterprise of New York City (AMENY) the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce ( CACCI), the New York Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (NYHCC), and the New York Real Estate Chamber (NYREC). 

Jose Sr. is presently active on several distinguished boards throughout New York City
